The 5th edition of Translog Africa took place in Ouagadougou from 20 to 22 October 2026 under the theme "Resilience and securing of supply chains in a rapidly changing global environment". Organised by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Mobility through the Burkinabè Shippers' Council (CBC), chaired by Mr Emile ZERBO, Minister of State, and sponsored by Mr El Hadj Souleymane ZIDNABA, it brought together participants from 15 countries. The Port Autonome de Douala was the official sponsor.
The proceedings comprised an introductory presentation and twelve sub-themes grouped into four panels, moderated by Yaya YEDAN and Vincent TOUGRI. The discussions highlighted ageing infrastructure, delays in digitalisation and system interconnection, insufficient coordination among stakeholders, the burden of demurrage and detention charges, and the lack of a formal logistics master plan.
Nine recommendations were adopted, including the creation of a follow-up committee, national and regional logistics master plans, maritime and foreign-trade single windows, and interoperable digital platforms. The closing ceremony featured the reading of the Ouagadougou Declaration; the 6th edition is scheduled for 2028.
